Question 1

What is the problem you are trying to solve?

Accepted Answer

It is the first thing we ask. Privacy from a neighbor, containing a dog, pool safety, noise from the road, marking a property line, or simply improving the look of the front yard: each one points to a different material, height, and layout. Tell us what the fence needs to do and we will work back from there.

Question 2

What types of fences do you install?

Accepted Answer

We install cedar and wood, vinyl, aluminum, and chain link fencing for both residential and commercial properties, along with custom gates, arbors, and pergolas. If you are not sure which material fits your property, our team will walk you through the options based on how you plan to use the fence, the look you want, and your budget.

Question 3

How much does fence installation cost?

Accepted Answer

Cost depends on the material, the height, the total length, the site conditions, and any custom work. We do not publish fixed prices because no two properties are the same. Estimates are free, and we put the details in writing so you can compare fairly.

Question 4

How long does installation take?

Accepted Answer

Most residential fences are installed in two to five days once the project is scheduled. Larger commercial projects and custom fabrication take longer. We give you a realistic timeline during your consultation and keep you updated if anything changes.

Question 5

Do I need a permit?

Accepted Answer

In our experience most South Shore towns only require a permit for fencing over six feet tall, but bylaws vary from town to town. We recommend checking with your local building department before the project begins, and we are happy to provide the project details you need for that conversation.

Question 6

How should I maintain cedar, vinyl, aluminum, and chain-link fencing?

Accepted Answer

Cedar: keep the base clear of mulch and leaves, trim low branches that shed water onto the fence, and re-stain every few years to preserve color. Vinyl: wash with soap, water, and a non-abrasive sponge. Aluminum: very little upkeep, just rinse it off and inspect for damage. Chain link: inspect periodically for damage; PVC-coated chain link is essentially maintenance free.

Question 7

Can you install fencing on uneven terrain?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sloped yards, ledge, stone walls, and irregular grades are a regular part of our work on the South Shore. Depending on the site and the style, we either step the fence or rack it to follow the grade so the finished line looks intentional.

Question 8

Do you offer custom designs?

Accepted Answer

We do. We assemble or manufacture most of what we sell, so we can adjust panel widths, heights, post details, gate hardware, and decorative tops to suit the property rather than forcing a stock panel to fit.

Question 9

What areas do you serve?

Accepted Answer

We serve the South Shore of Massachusetts from our Pembroke location, including Hingham, Cohasset, Scituate, Norwell, Marshfield, Duxbury, and the surrounding communities. If you are not sure whether you are in our area, give us a call.

Question 10

How should I prepare for installation?

Accepted Answer

Mark your property lines, or have them surveyed if there is any question about where they fall. Clear plants, furniture, and debris from the fence line. Let your neighbors know the work is coming, especially along a shared boundary.

Question 11

Do you offer financing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Financing is available through Enhancify. You will find the Financing link at the top of every page on this site.

Question 12

Do you sell materials for DIY installation?

Accepted Answer

We do sell fence materials for homeowners handling their own installation. DIY materials are subject to product availability, so call or stop by the Pembroke showroom to confirm what is in stock before you plan your project.

Question 13

Do you work during the winter?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We install year-round on the South Shore. Frozen ground and snow can affect scheduling, but winter is often a good time to get a project on the calendar ahead of spring.
